After a lot of delays I finally finished the series
Read for second time Dec.11th, 2017
The only thing I felt after finishing this book was satisfaction. Hawkins definitely knows how to pull all loose ends together the right way maybe she should give Suzanne Collins some pointers. I had been waiting to get this novel for a long time. I think I'm still hold number twenty at the library. It was pure chance that I happened to see my friend's book that was brand new and second in the series. She had got it from the librarian who needed readers to read all these new books. So I accompanied her to the library to discover an entire shelf filled with new books. I could feel my heart beat out of the chest and I grabbed for the Fault in Our Stars but just I as I saw Spell Bound out of the corner of my eye. I put the book down, grabbed Spell Bound, thanked the librarian a bazillion times, and started reading: the book hasn't left my sight since then.
My thoughts on....
The Series: Spell Bound was a good closer I don't know if Hawkins is going to write anymore books in this series. My guess would be no but she left open the possibility.
Sophie: One of the reasons I love Sophie so much is her humor. She has the same sarcastic, funny humor as me. Always not many people laugh at her jokes which happens with me so I have this certain connection with her. Although she was a little dim-witted when she thought the Brannicks had abducted her mother( I was practically yelling at the book NO YOUR MOTHER PROBABLY IS A BRANNICK!) but if I was in her situation I probably wouldn't have guessed it either. I also loved Sophie's ability to make up words like hellacious. Sophie is definitely the reason I actually laughed out loud while reading it.
Love Triangle: It seems like every book has them these days and I have to say I really enjoy them unless they are the equivalent of crap or even worse Twilight. But Hawkins definitely works the love triangle in this book. I feel Sophie's attachment to both guys but I know she needs to end up with Archer not that there is anything wrong with Cal but Archer makes witty comments back to Sophie's jokes and I like that. Sophie needs a guy she can go back and forth with while Cal is kind of a big Teddy bear guard. That's why I liked Cal dying, not because I didn't want him to but because in ghost life on the island he can finally find someone to guard: Elodie. I practically jumped up at this moment screaming YES YES but I didn't feel like waking up my parents at 1 am in the morning. She solved it the way any love triangle could be solved x2 because she killed off the competition and found him another girl bravo, bravo.
The Death of the Casnoffs: I don't know why but I wasn't expecting it but when Mrs. Casnoff pushed her and Lara over the edge I found myself agreeing with it. The Casnoffs didn't know they were wrong and they thought they were doing the right thing which is sad because they should have had more support when they were younger so I definitely blame Alexei on that.
Overall: I loved this book just as I love the first and second. I wish the covers were a little less dorky but be I must be grateful these books are around with the same sarcastic humor that gets me through the school day. Thank gosh Rachel Hawkins is in the world! :)

Great ending for this series, Sophie always kept true to himslef, although I'm sad for somethings. Don't miss this series.
Slow plot through 3/4 and once again things sped up at the end. Not sure what I think about the ending; still processing.
I enjoyed the series, which is really a duology with the second book split into book 2 and 3. Given the split, the second book of the duology is way too long with about a third of that length being pointless filler. This "book 3", however, is much tighter than the watered down "book 2", so it's much more enjoyable.
There is the annoying "love triangle", with the over the top drama associated with it. And there is a lot of typical paranormal YA chirpy naivete. But the book is well written - enough to smooth out some of those rougher edges.
What I enjoyed the most was the conceptual underpinnings of the story - the causes and consequences of political fear mongering and the insidious corruption by power covered up by seemingly benign intentions.

Buku penutup dari seri Hex Hall. Awalnya aku pikir setelah ini masih ada lanjutannya, makanya agak bingung pas bukunya selesai. Ternyata School Spirits spin-offnya aja😂
Mengingat kalau Cal hidup, pasti akan memperumit suasana (dan hidup Cal akan jauh lebih nyelekit karena Sophie cintanya sama Archer lol) karena dia cinta Sophie😂 but at least he got what he wants in the end, being able to stay on hex hall forever even as a ghost. A little bittersweet but hey he's happy.
Elodie di sini... Can't help but liking her more and more as i read the book. She lowkey likes Cal so she also gets her happy ending, kind of?
