I guess this is the end of the Hex Hall series. While I didn't think this was OMG the best book EVA it was pretty good. It did feel rushed. Some of the new characters just weren't developed. I really hope the author lets some of the minor characters- Izzy mostly- get their own book or book series.
4 stars
Satisfying end to a fun series. I loved Sophie's voice, and overlooked minor irritations on the strength of her personality.

Spellbound is the conclusion to the Hex Hall trilogy and while I thought it was done well enough, I felt that it could have been better. Don't get me wrong, there was enough action and mystery to keep me interested in the novel, but it's more of the other plot points that left me disappointed.
Like, all of a sudden, Sophie has reconciled with the idea that Archer is a spy and they're all kissyface all the time? I was hoping for a little more build-up. Cal dying? No, no, no, no, no! It completely felt like the author got rid of him just so Sophie and Archer could get together. And leaving hints that Cal might hook up with Elodie because they're both dead? No, no, no!
The villains were uninspiring, boring and 2D. I wish the tension between the Brannicks and Sophie being a demon could have been explored deeper but perhaps that was asking too much.
Overall, not a bad read, but still, a little sad that it wasn't good as I had hoped for it to be.

SPOILER!!!

Such a perfect ending. I am so happy this wasn't a disappointment. A lot of authors tend to fail at the last book in a series and this was really really great. This book ended with me being so happy & so sad to the point of getting teary eyed because of Cal. You can't help but feel bad for Cal but he gave his life for the woman he loved even if she didn't love him back "that way". I wish there was going to be another book maybe about The Eye but it was a more than satisfying conclusion to the story. I will miss you Archer Cross<3 & of course Sophie & Jenna. This series seriously has a great set of characters that you really grow to love & they are endlessly hilarious.

This was the third book in the Hex Hall series and it did not disappoint.
This book picks right up where the last one ended with Sofie transporting herself to the Brannicks in search of her Mother and safety. Sofie has lost her magic powers thanks to the council and she doesn't know if any of her friends are still alive after the attack on Thornaby. Sophie will have to try and figure out how to save the world without her magic powers, and hopefully be able to team up with the Brannicks.
What a sad end to a great series. I felt like the last book was rushed and easily could have been made into two books. Although Sophie's smart snark doesn't disappoint, this was my least favorite of the three books.
I loved this! I think it's my favourite in the series! It was a great ending and I loved how it wrapped up and how everyone was happy. One of my favourite parts in the entire book was when Sophie was commenting on the 'final battle' (so to speak) and how she said that she wasn't some badass, just a crying teenage girl, which was so important because that's so freaking realistic. Anyway, this review is kind of a mess, but I loved this book.
