i don’t specifically regret reading this because i looked cool doing it and it also didn’t cost me anything since i got it from my schools library but i do think that it wouldn’t have hurt if i just had watched the movie

I will never recover from this.

ok so it isn't perfect by a long shot and the film is 100 times better than the book but I found that reading the book and annotating it was a way to compile my thoughts abt the story and stuff.

no the writing isn't amaizing but ya know what the story is good enough that I was distracted and I honestly loved it

Neil Perry my love I am so sorry.

it was really easy to read and u could understand everything. it didn’t really feel like a book tho. probably bc it’s adapted off of a movie but i have to say i really like the movie here better. i especially recommend this to people who have a hard time getting through a book

I rarely read a book after I have already seen the movie because I fail to detach the films interpretations from my own imagination and opinions. With Dead Poets Society being one of my favourite films I decided to give up my preconceived rules and give N.H. Kleinbaum a chance.

She certainly did not disappoint as this book took me on the same emotional rollercoaster as the film. With slight deviations, Dead Poets Society drew me into life as a young man at Welton Academy under the tutelage of Mr Keating. I celebrated their triumphs and cried at the sorrows and fell in love with their friendship.

O Captain! My Captain!”, I hope to “gather [my] rosebuds while [I] may,” and make my life extraordinary!

now listen...... dead poets society is my favorite movie so obviously i was so excited to read the book and trust me, i’m still glad i did. but honestly, it was so disappointing. there are a few scenes missing, like the one where todd chases neil around the room which is one of my favorites. not to mention the fact that knox is 100 times worse. he’s already a creep in the movie but in this book he literally s*xually assaults chris.......?? like that was so unnecessary but let’s go.
the writing was also not my favorite thing in the world and i feel like it didn’t do any justice to keating’s words. but as i said in the beginning, i’m still really glad i got the book. if you’re a big fan of the movie you will either love it or hate it if i’m being honest. there’s the whole aspect of being able to hold that beautiful story in your hands but there’s also...... everything i wrote here.
(i apologize for any mistakes, english isn’t my first language <3)
