The main type of magic system is blood magic so they obtain blood by either cutting themselves or other people so that might be triggering for some people.suzi_is_cake's review against another edition

When I read the description for this book I certainly had a preconceived notion of how it was gonna play out. I knew since it was Crimson Moth Book 1 I wasn’t going to get a resolution. But it takes its slow burn enemies to lovers tropes and turns it on its head. It’s honestly brilliant. I cannot wait for the next one.
Content wise, this books falls between YA and Adult. There are adult themes with implied happenings but nothing in detail. I will say the way the magic system works could be seen self harm so proceed with caution. I’ll put more specifics below.
Overall I absolutely loved this book.
Moderate: Self harm

I will say the twist reveal was extremely obvious. Like, see it from a mile away, well before you're supposed to obvious.
Also. ALSO. How are you going to name two best friends Gideon and Harrow??? That threw me off so much. Do authors not research their character names or anything, to make sure they haven't been used together before? Is The Locked Tomb really that obscure?
Lastly, I do think there should be a warning about the self harm built into the magic system. A lot of talk about cutting oneself, even specifying wrists.

PARDON???
literally crying and furious at the same time because how dare you kristen! break our hearts and then just end the book on that? i’m not emotionally okay
anyways, this book was amazing and i did not expect to be this head over heels for it. i loved rune and alex’s friendship and i loved the actual enemies to lovers tension between rune and gideon.
this book has actual stakes that made me have goosebumps while reading and tender moments that made me blush and swoon.
well done. now i need the next book soon okay?
