sweet.. shmexxxyy fast read.
I liked the story line. The heroine's character is very common.. secretary of the boss, uptight and has a case of OCD. I'm glad that her character grew stronger and determined. The hero DELL ooohh,. it's not everyday that i get to read about a hunky vet. He's cool i guess.. it was so funny reading about him struggling to keep his feelings on check. You see, he has abandonment issues so it was hard for Jade to have to leave him. I'm happy that things worked out well for him and Jade in the end. I almost thought that Jade would be the first one who'll make a move... guess not.

I have been reading this for a long time, not because the book was bad but because I haven't been in a reading mood. I really enjoyed this. Jade and Dell were full of sparks in the first book and it was nice to see the results of those sparks. It was interesting to see Dell interact with his birth mother, and that he introduced Jade to her. I am looking forward to Adam's book.
Another great read from Shalvis. I loved the sexual tension between them and the banter. I was a little disappointed that they didn't talk sooner..and the heroine frustrated me at times because she pushed the hero to talk but didn't want to open up herself.
Aside from that I found this to be a great contemporary read. Highly recommend to all.

Jill Shalvis never fails to write characters who are just so easy to love and stories that captivate me from beginning to end. Another great novel!
Jade Bennett is hiding from something... She sticks out in Sunshine, Idaho like a sore thumb. Her heels are high and her clothes aren't Carhartts. But Dell Connelly is appreciative of the fact that she has taken his disorganized vet clinic and ruthlessly put everything into spread sheets and to-do lists.
Jade showed up in town eighteen months ago and has gotten friendly with Dell and his brother as well as their friend Lilah. Dell hasn't been pushing to learn her secrets because he understands the need to keep some things private. Also, there seems to be a spark between the two of them that he's instinctively shying away from. He's a lone stallion who specializes in one night stands and, besides, Jade is leaving soon.
This book was really good. I wish some of the subplots hadn't been there (women chasing after Dell) and I wish we had learned a little bit more about why Jade was so averse to therapy. She had a fairly traumatic event and it seems like a fairly obvious choice for someone from her background. I also wish we had seen more interaction with her and her father. Their one major scene was touching, but less than a page long.
Love Jill Shalvis. Her books don't suck me in like Jennifer Crusie or Susan Elizabeth Philips' best works but she is a steady writer who you can depend on to have a great story with relatable characters.
Read-alikes: Animal Magnetism (first book in the series), any other Shalvis books, Carly Philips, Susan Elizabeth Philips
