The book is well written and the universe is as magical as promised, but there was something about this book that didn’t quite capture me as raptly as I would expect. I kept getting distracted reading this one, like I couldn’t get engrossed, and by the end I was just ready for it to be over.

This was a unique and poetically written book which overall I enjoyed, but there was so much metaphor and so many threads that I think I lost a few and the ending didn’t seem to help. I lost track of the purpose of it all somewhere but perhaps I read it too slowly.

“I think I was supposed to be exploring all along.”

Love a descriptive writer, but this didn’t quite stick the landing for me. Gets a little bit too overly fantastical near the end, in a way that leaves things feeling almost weightless. The vibes are immaculate tho, and each individual interlude/short story works well enough on its own that I’m not complaining too much.

I stopped reading it about 70% of the way through, but stopped paying attention to the audiobook a bit earlier. It’s not a bad concept, but I generally didn’t find many characters or the plot to be captivating. A lot slower paced than I expected too.
