An interesting novella with a fascinating premise. There was a plot twist towards the end that I was not super on-board with. I would have loved a little more information about the state of the world; it seems clear to me that this is set in an alternate universe where the birth rate is declining dramatically and is even approaching 0 in some places. That feels like too important a detail to merely be background, but it never really increases far beyond that. I'd love to see this expanded into a full novel, if Mr. Thompson could make it work.

3.5 stars. Interesting short story about a girl who creates doppelgängers when she bleeds. It was extremely fast paced and kept my attention throughout the whole thing. I would have liked it to be a little longer and more developed, but overall an enjoyable little story
