3.5 Although I did enjoy this story, I found it hard to really get into for quite a while. I do want to read on, though, as I love these characters and their crazy adventures.
LOvEd this book! Adorable and funny.A nice spin on princes charming and the princesses.
This book was so much fun from start to finish. I can't begin to explain how many times I burst out laughing, or found myself just giggling or smiling because of these characters.
The four Prince Charmings are paired together so perfectly, and compliment each other so well. Their banter is to die for. Who knew that reading about these four Princes bumbling along for over 400 pages would have me sitting there having the time of my life every night for 45 minutes.
My 9 year old loved it maybe a little bit less than I did, but even then, she's super excited to go on to the next one (with a secret hope of more princesses than princes).
This was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to the remainder of the series! An impressive debut.
One of my favorite reads this year!!! If you can get the audiobook I highly recommend it: the voices, the singing, the personalities shine!!! Masterpiece.

Nagyon régen találkoztam ennyire szórakoztató meseregénnyel, mert az első mondattól az utolsóig a sok akció mellett Christopher Healy jól megcsavargatja a jól ismert trópusokat, és ki is figurázza azokat. Ráadásul viccesebbnél viccesebb jeleneteket sorakoztat egymás után, ugyanakkor a felszíni humor mögött teljesen korrekt és tudatos jellemrajzok vannak s olyan tanulságok, amelyek egyáltalán nem erőltetettek. Healy-nek egyébként ez az első könyve, korábban ő is könyves blogger volt és ifjúsági regényeket olvasott meg recenzált, szóval lehet, neki is mondták, hogy ha valamiről negatívat írt, hogy ha nem tetszik írj jobbat. És megtette, írt egy nagyon szórakoztató, felnőttnek/gyereknek egyaránt bejövő történetet.

I really really really wanted to like this one. Love fractured fairy tales and the beginning seemed extremely promising. But by 2/3 of the way, I was slogging through it, and I ended up not even reading the last 30 pages.
Why?
1. Overly long. Some scenes felt thrown in to use as the comic relief parts of a film, as if Healy was expecting film producers to come calling. And those scenes got more plentiful and more tedious, with way too cutesy dialogue.
2. Almost too many characters to keep track of, especially for kids. Loved the trolls, though.
Tighten the story up, lose a lot of the filler scenes and this could be a good series.
Why?
