I am sitting here after finishing this book wondering wtf just happened. There is no feeling of closure for any of the characters. I spent so much energy working to understand how everything was happening and then the ending came along and just completely drained me. I’m wondering where the rest of the book is. Where the rest of the story is. Like I think I would prefer at least another 50 pages to explain what just happened rather then have pointless chapters about characters I don’t know and don’t care about and interactions that could have been summed up in a paragraph. The rest of the book was so good and so it was so disappointing to get to the end and it just fizzle out.

weirdly enough, this book was a bit disappointing.
I loved the slowburn of Ronan and Adam, i loved the proper introduction of Henry and i loved the group. Still, it was not enough.
There are too many unresolved problems. What about the demon? The other characters?
It was all too simple, too fast. Too characters that didn't actually had a reason to be there beside giving excuses to the plot to go on.
The "villain" wasn't a villain. There was nothing.
Even the end of their journey was disappointing.
Even more weirder: i do not get blue and gansey relationship at all. Henry didn't have enough time to shine.
So much potential, wasted.
yay for pynch ig...

I've spent over 40 hours of my life listening to this saga. the raven cycle is a wild journey and I cant even remember half the plot. the journey is definitely worth it and the characters are some of my favorite ever written. Stiefvater has a brilliant way of writing and ending her books. this book was magnificent and this series is one of my favorites by far. I highly recommend it to anyone that will listen. fall in love with this story and characters just as i have and please come talk to me if you have.

4/5 stars - read via audiobook

If I were a writer, I’d want to write like Maggie Stiefvater! I love her voice.

(Spoilers ahead)

4/5 stars for all 4 books in the series. All 4 were consistently good (great characters, interesting premise, engaging setting), but each book had its own gimmicky villains which all kind of bled together by the end of the series. I also felt we could’ve gotten to the point faster, especially in this last book.

And perhaps it’s because I wasn’t paying close enough attention while I was listening, but the endings of all the books in this series were rather hard to follow. Especially the end of this one. It ends happily (which is great!) but I wouldn’t be able to explain to you what happened and am left with lots of questions.
SpoilerDid Gansey just…spring back to life? Did Cabeswater sacrifice itself for him? Does Blue’s curse still exist? Where is Neeve? What happens to Artemus and Gwenllian (and what was the point of them lol)? Is Matthew okay? What will Gansey do without Glendower to search for? Who were the 3 sleepers if Glendower isn't one of them? Where is Noah? I literally have no idea.

But oh well! It's about the journey, not the destination. Fun read and lovely writing style, but mostly, the characters are the reason that these books are 4/5 for me.
