Its a nice summer read. Not exactly enriching literature but it is fun nonetheless.
Rachel Summers lives happily with her boyfriend of 5 years in their flat, thinking they will get married, have babies and live happily ever after; this is far from the case. Her boyfriend, Simon, says he wants 'a break' from their relationship, leaving Rachel completely shell shocked. Straight away one thing I did not like was how quick Rachel was to take him back after the way he treated her.
Anyway, in order to help her embrace single life, her two best friends Emelie and Matthew write her a list of things to do now that she is single:
1. Get a makeover
2. Exercise
3. Do something extreme
4. Find a date for your dad’s wedding
5. Do something your ex wouldn’t approve of
6. Buy yourself something obscenely expensive and selfish
7. Write a letter to your ex
8. Travel somewhere you’ve never been before
9. Contact your first crush
10. Break the law
Rachel gets herself a whole new look, and sets out to complete the to do list. Along the way, she discovers that it's actually ok to be single, and she doesn't mind being alone, as well as rediscovering her close friendships with Emelie and Matthew, who are both good characters and add humour to the book, the trio are so fun together with their little arguments and whatnot.
There are a lot of funny parts to this book, as well as some interesting characters, a lot like Angela Clark's adventures, so if you liked the I Heart series, then give this one a go. For me, though, this book just didn't particularly stand out as anything amazing.
What I did love about this book was Jenny Lopez's little cameo role in the book, linking nicely to the I Heart series. Nonetheless a nice, funny chick lit book with a happy ending.

It was decent. Nothing special, but enjoyable, light, and fun.
I love this book - it's my favourite of all Lindley Kelk's books, and I just listened to the audio book. I've read it at least 5 times.
Use of a trans slur was the last straw.
A lot of derogatory references to other women's weight.

I thoroughly enjoyed re reading this! I know I read it a long time ago, probably around when it was published and I was discovering Lindsey Kelk's work, but of all her books (I've read them all) this was the one I remembered the least. I absolutely loved it! I fell completely in love with Rachel, I found myself highlighting so many hilarious passages / sentences. I could "hear" Lindsey's humour and voice throughout (being quite familiar with her as a person via Instagram and having got to know her online over recent years). I found this one in particular to be really funny. Rachel may well be my fave LK character, now I'm wanting more of her story!

Wisest mom! I loved this book so much. It's so enjoyable. I loved the adventure and friendship in this book. I recommend it for people who are looking for something funny and quick to read.
Shittest review. I will try to write another one later.
