Still really strong, and the Civil War II tie-in was actually really well done. Shame we only get half a book of Javier Rodriguez artwork, but at least the fill-in artists were also quite good. I love this series, it's just so much fun and super wholesome.

We're gonna ignore the whole Bruce Banner thing, okay? *cries quietly into a mug of hot chocolate*

Hopeless is still on top of his game in Volume 2 and really there are few characters in the Marvel Universe impacted in more ways by Civil War II than Spider Woman so he has a lot to work with here. As a result you feel the impact that events away from this series have in a way that's rare for cross over events. Having given birth at the end of the last volume the title character is still trying to balance life and hero work and Hopeless does a good job blurring those lines while paying attention to both. Lastly, Rodriguez art deserves special attention. As he is drawing a new mother hr seemed at least aware of what that might do to Spider Woman's body and her character design in this collection reflects that.

I still love Jess. I love the world she's carved out for herself outside of the Avengers.
I really have no interest in Civil War 2. At least Hopeless managed to keep Jess grounded in her Jessness while she's involved in CW2's nonsense.
I am really, really angry that Civil War 2 seems to have ended one of my favorite female friendships.

The excellence continues; again with this volume, Marvel seems to have learned its lesson about letting the major Summer event screw up the individual superhero collections - this was ostensibly the tie-in from Civil War II from last year, and the events of that - an Inhuman who can predict the future, and so on - factor heavily into the story, but it works, and never overshadows what's going on in this, the 2nd chapter in Jessica's life superheroing with her new baby. Still manages to rise to the level of the previous volume - good stuff.
