I really couldn’t stand the entitlement of the MC, or some of the other kids. I was growing more and more annoyed as the book went on until the road rage and plot twist. The ending was quite satisfying.

every character in this book is insufferable and borderline psychotic

ARC REVIEW

This book is fast-paced, easy to read, and less than 300 pages long. I began reading it as a refreshing break from my fantasy series, and it was exactly what I needed.

I found the beginning of the story to be quite slow, but it definitely picked up its pace towards the end, which is typical of thrillers. The chapters are quick and fast, with plot twists and a young adult setting. I found some of the writing a bit choppy, but for a quick and fast-paced thriller, it was still good.

Thank you Netgalley for this eARC.

I didn’t end up enjoying this one as much as I expected or hoped to. I kept trying not to compare it to "That's Not My Name" since it felt like Megan was aiming for something different here, but it just didn’t work for me. There was an underlying message about what happens when privilege and bad decisions spiral into consequences no one saw coming. The FMC came off as annoying and entitled, which I guess was the point, but it didn’t make her any easier to root for. I also went in expecting more of a whodunit, so I found myself wishing there were more people to throw me off the case. As for the twist... it just wasn’t that twisty.

I’m fully convinced this book was sponsored by Subaru, like why was it mentioned in EVERY CHAPTER?!

still a fun read though lol
