The pacing was so infuriating! I thought it was going to get really good when they turned into vampires but then we had to go on several different roadtrips?! Then the parts that weren’t on the road felt like side-quests. The story didn’t mesh well together. The dialogue between the main characters felt overdone and at times cliche. I mostly enjoyed the characters but I desperately wanted Sloane to be more Nightbitch than Bella Swan. It was very repetitive, too. Ugh, I really wanted to love this.

Rachel Harrison is a fucking queen among men. Her unconventional horror once again enthralls me and grips me until the end.

It’s thought-provoking, insightful, and fully prepared to thrust you into your own mind and ask yourself if you would be prepared to live your own life, should it be handed to you on a silver platter inscribed with eternity.
