This book was so happy and adorable, the humor spectacular and the characters well developed. It felt like reading someone’s life, which I think Emily Henry is going to be known for to me.

However, it just didn’t hold my attention in the terms of plot - I was just kinda waiting for something to happen. I would say it’s more of a journey to self love than an actual story with main events and plot twists and storyline. I think the past/present time jumps don’t help with this.

I loved Alex Nilsen so so much, which was unbelievably unexpected. He’s so different than MMC’s I’ve read before with his quiet, OCD, straightforward, easily embarrassed ways. But then you see how he is with Poppy and I just SWOON. The sense of humor is impeccable, and I love how weird these characters are. I will say the miscommunication (as always, really) was very frustrating used in Alex and Poppy’s instance. Their friendship was so meaningful and deep so it made the miscommunication feel unbelievable and strange.

Overall I did enjoy the ride, albeit a very chill, slow and steady ride.

This is the second book I read by this author. The first was Happy Place.
Things i didn't like:
The "sad puppy face" (or wtv in eng) was cringe.
The author once more relied on a lie to drive the plot, which felt unnecessary to me.
The main character was ready to give up her entire life for a guy, AGAIN?!??
Despite this, the characters were funny and I enjoyed the fast-paced chapters. It was a good summer read.

This definitely didn’t hit as hard as Book Lovers did for me, but I really liked the main characters, and I loved the non-chronological way the story unfolded. It was cute, fun, enjoyable to read.
