I enjoyed learning about her life however it felt a little long. I would recommend it still as it was interesting to learn some history and it made me google more information about her. I did want to keep telling her, you don't need a man! :)
Such an interesting story - made into a boring, slow telling with way too many unimportant details.
This is a beautiful book, about a woman who received much but somehow gave more. Reading her life unfold was a pleasure. Her romanticism with life and her willingness to inflate others around her while she was often the one leading the charge. We read about this great time in history from the vantage of a man and their accomplishments; I enjoyed reading how much of it was quite organized by exquisite hostesses, all around just like Mrs. Post.
