Gah. Just GAH. So good. I did NOT want these two to be finished--but so happy that more of the series is coming too. Just amazing writing. I'm bowing down at the altar of Skye.

Usually books where the characters are already together lose my interest super fast but I loved this from start to finish.

Sadly the last installment lost a bit of oomph.

This was a good conclusion to the Endgame series. It had some interesting mystery and suspense. That ending was messed up in the most shocking way and overall was a well done plot that was never too OTT.

Now the romance on the other hand, I’m not sure about. It really annoys me when they leave the FMC out of what’s going on and cover it up as “protecting” them. I don’t care if it’s to keep the readers in the dark but you need to give her something! On top of that, I just didn’t like Gabriel. Which is odd because he’s very similar to other MMCs I’ve loved that are the perfect combination of dark, alpha
asshole. Maybe it’s just because he wouldn’t even give Avery crumbs of what was going on and although he shared more of his life with her, it never seemed like something he did because their relationship was getting stronger but because he basically had to. So I just didn’t feel that emotional connection I guess. There were still moments I liked between them but the best payoff is when the closed-off MMC drops his walls for his love interest and we just didn’t get much of that here.

The story was so-so. I only read the trilogy to find out what happened in the end. I didn’t really feel a connection with the MCs, I really liked Harper so I might read her book to see the story play out. We never really knew anything about the MCs, how old was Gabriel? What did he look like other than his eye color? She vaguely described him and Avery. The “little virgin” nickname was used way too much, made sense in the first book but because redundant throughout the next two books.
