I was hoping the FMC would be less annoying in this one, but no. She ist still the most stupid character in the book.
I liked reading about her and Lore, but I feel like there could have been more done here. It went from her being mad to in love too fast. The spice was awkward.
The story, however, has me hooked.

Fallon spends most of this book on little side quests she believes important only to find out they aren't, which makes her actions seem kind of pointless. All the important stuff seems to happen off page. The romance is marketed as slow burn but in the space of 10 pages goes from Fallon hating Lore to them declaring love. The romance is also a bit lackluster Lore just waits for her to realise they have to be together because of a magic bond and doesn't do anything to win her over.

Not only was the FMC insufferable but this book genuinely has the worst plot. Even the spicy scenes were so awkward and just…like I physically could not get through this whole thing and was tempted to DNF at 70% but I had to just skim because I was already in so deep. There was so much potential, and I agree with the other reviewers when they say the world building is amazing but characters and personalities were dewdew. I’m not continuing this series.

It’s been a while since a series sequel has earned 5 full stars from me but this one did it easily. This series is easily one of my all time faves.

The character development, the world building, the plot. So so good. I’ve been in a book slump for months and it’s taken me many days to finish books lately, but I finished this one in a day and a half.
And that cliffhanger. Gahhh. I need book 3 immediately!

The Slow Burn is real and I love it! Book two has expanded the world and build on relationships really well. I can't wait to start book 3! My friend told me to trust the process and that is what I'm telling everyone else!
