I didn't enjoy the All-smut route this book took at like the 4/5 mark too much, but it was still really good and enjoyable.

Also the take on the fmc is really realistic, which could be annoying but made it a little more grounded for me to read.
Excited to see where this leads!

This is book 2 and picks up right where we left off in book 1. Which leaves Fallon feeling upset and defiant. Which.. I kind of loved lol. She's fiesty!

I loved the journey they went on in this and where the plot went after the first book. I absolutely despise Dante. He annoyed me in book 1 and I really disliked him even more so in book 2.

I'm in love with a certain crow shifter, on the other hand. ;) I was rooting for him in book 1 but wow he really stole my heart in book 2! I finally got the "more" that I was wanting since book 1!

THAT DAMN CLIFFHANGER.. OLIVIA, C'MON!?! I need book 3 immediately. Please and thank you.. and also.. how dare you.

"I swear to you, Fallon Baeinach, that you will live, wander, and fly." <3

Most of the book was a exhausting round about with miss/lack of communication. I still enjoy the characters- the writing is nicely vivid.

I'm not sure why people are comparing this book to ACOTAR? Why is that series some gold standard that everything gets compared to? It's not similar to these books.

Despite my enjoyment of the first book, I couldn't finish this. Fallon gets even dumber and more selfish in this book. I just can't with her. She's so needlessly jealous and naive on top of her insufferable personality. Nothing she does will redeem her in my eyes. She's supposed to be in her early 20s but acts like a 12-year-old. I don't understand how a 700-year-old being could be remotely interested in a clueless immature brat such as Fallon, yet, he conveniently is because "mates." Nope. No way. It's kind of gross and shallow now that I think about it. He keeps information from her about her life and family. He lets her think she's right when she's obviously wrong and doesn't correct her. Not to mention, he's invasive. He reads her thoughts even when she doesn't want him to. I had an issue with that in the first book and it continues into the second book. All of that behavior is manipulative and inches towards grooming.

The FMC ruined this book for me and I like Olivia's writing and her other books. I'm sad I couldn't get past this train wreck of a character and the questionable "relationship" between her and Lore.

Fallon was definitely teetering on a liiiiiittle too insufferable for me this book, people aren't wrong about that in the other reviews I've read. **BUT!!!!** all the other characters, and the plot etc. were so good that I still devoured the book in only a few days. It was a feet kicking good time despite not liking the FMC as much as I have liked others.

The MMC is SO dark and possessive. I love him. He doesn't give a flying fudge about anything but the ones he loves. He is my everything. He kills people for breathing on Fallon wrong. He was the best part about the book. We love a man who will burn the world to the ground for the FMC.

a MUST read!!!

This book has so many emotions throughout the story it'll run you through the gamut. The world building and side characters are very detailed but not confusing I never once ask myself "who the hell is this? where is that?". It took a bit too long for Fallon to wake up but the twist that was thrown in make's a bit understandable! The spice definitely picked up in this part of the story.

I sort of think this could be a new ACOTAR.
