Foundation #1 for me. I'm reading the series in chronological order, by the timeline of events, not by the publishing date.

I'm so glad I read the Robots series first because the ending of this book was much easier to understand. I absolutely loved The Flight, all of Hari's adventures with Dors, and the fascinating people they encountered along the way. Not to mention the Mycogen clan, with their bald men of authority and the women who were so humiliatingly subjugated. Although I understand that this book was written in 1988, the thought that, even after 20,000 years, such disgusting patriarchal societies could still exist sends shivers down my spine.

I loved this book, I really did the story is so captivating despite very little actually happening. However, the characters, especially the mathematician (I refuse to refer to him by name because I don’t respect him), are incredibly grating at points.

Great book! Loved the end. So great!

An interesting start to an epic sci-fi series, or so I've been told. I haven't read any foundation series books up till now, and this certainly isn't how I saw it starting.

Most of the book has very little to do with sci-fi but was interesting in introducing different cultures. It felt more like a fantasy book in this regard.

At the end of the book everything comes together and I now understand how this will turn into sci-fi.

An ok book on its own - but it had me hooked now wanting to see how the rest of the series goes
