I'm completely addicted to Louise Penny's Three Pines series. The first two were good, but this one really sucked me in with its haunted house feel and the skill with which Penny weaves various story lines. I'm torn between reading the rest of the series NOW and stringing them out over a few months. What a wonderful quandary.

This installment of the Three Pines series finally gives us some detail into the Arnoud case that has been hanging over Gamache's head. The first two books mentioned it in passing.
We also see more of the Hadley House. The central character in all murders in Three Pines? I kind of picture it like the Amityville Horror house at this point.
We also get to know more about Clara and her art, not just as the proud wife of Peter, the accomplished actor, and the friend to all in the village.

I started this 2 days ago and had to stay up to finish. I loved the 2 stories: the investigation of the murder of Madeline and the ongoing saga of the betrayal of Gamache. No spoilers here but so much revealed(thankfully).
