I liked this! It's the first cozy mystery I've read in a long time, and I enjoyed it! I did feel like the beginning was a bit quick, and everything was working weirdly great for Mae. Reflecting, I think I'll get more character development and backstory that in the next books (or I hope that we'll get more). I loved the Schitt's Creek/ Ginny and Georgia vibes. I requested the next audiobook from my local library :)

I have never rolled my eyes so much. This book was full of cringe inducing phrases, and it was completely unbelievable. This focused way more on the people in the town rather than the mystery. It was annoying for many reasons one of them being the characters were constantly repeating the same lines. And the flip flopping of Mae was exhausting. I’m really not sure why I finished it. Needless to say I won’t be continuing with the series.

It was just ok for a short, cozy mystery. The plot was predictable and the who done it portion fell completely flat. I did enjoy some of the side characters, but not a fan of the insta love triangle being set up. Also this book was completely mis-titled. There's not a beach (at least not mentioned, just dirt and grass), a bungalow (just campers) or multiple burglaries anywhere in the story.

The story is all over the place and the characters are very flat and one dimensional, even the MC. The premise is good, but the story just isn't living up to the possibilities. I really wanted to like it but it just didn't work for me.

Really wanted to like this but man, whiney and petulant from the get-go. Looks like it's got a solid following so maybe the rest of them get better but I'm not going to put the effort in.
