Well that was super cute! The first chapter hooked me right away and was maybe the sweetest interaction I’ve read in a rom com in a while. Rob was kind and considerate and patient. I love how even though he loved Kelsey for so long, he didn’t push or rush her. He was just a good friend to her and wanted her to be happy. He was such a gentlemen, which seems few and far between in books. It definitely took the entire book for them to officially get together, but it was so sweet to watch happen and it made the ending all the more worth it. I don’t typically like “friends to lovers” because there’s so much angst when the characters are together there’s so much inner monologue/pining. It’s often the only focus of the relationship, but this wasn’t the case here and this book truly was “friends to lovers.” Loved it!

Perfect After All is a second book of Happily Ever After All series. This time Cece Louise tells us about Melissa’s younger sister Kelsey and her colleague who is also Kelsey’s brother’s best friend Rob. Rob had a crush on Kelsey since high school whereas she was dating on and off Bryce. Now their relationship is over for good. Will Rob use his chance to win Kelsey over or will he stay on the outskirts and watch her getting in a new relationships.

I love Cece’s humor and characters she brought to life. This book was a perfect romcom for me. Can’t wait for book 3 to come out next year.

Really cute, sweet little rom-com. Very quick read and appreciated the mostly positive vibes without the annoying miscommunication trope nor the stupid misunderstanding leading to a 3rd act break-up and angst trope. Love the banter and the history between these characters.

I will start with the fact that I LOVE this series. I’ve been hooked since the first book! It was a Christmas-themed, celebrity/small-town girl romance and it was adorable. We meet Kelsey and Rob in the first book and immediately drawn to their dynamic… and hoping for a book two! Lo and behold book two was about them!

Kelsey really resonated with me because she comes out of a really trying relationship and you can tell that affects her so much. She’s so used to a jerk that she can’t see the amazing guy standing right in front of her. Rob has been around since they were kids…. hello brother’s best friend! He’s always been there to pick Kelsey up whenever she needs it (if she knew it or not). Rob is a perfect cinnamon roll that fell first (and hard). Kelsey is girl in a bit of a rut in love. Together their story is classic and one that you can read time and time again.

I really love this author. Her stories are easy to read, heart-warming and very relatable. And I am already counting down the days to BOOK THREE! I’m really excited to see how the resident grump of the Ellis family gets his HEA???

I could not put it down! I absolutely enjoyed Kelsey and Rob! It’s been a minute since I’ve read a romance with a couple that has such chemistry between them!

Also loved the lack of the ‘mandatory’ third act breakup! They were just perfect in all aspects. I never wanted it to end!

Definitely pick it up if you’re a friends-to-lovers & brothers-best-friend fiend!

This book is so cute and fun! It’s the second in the series, but it’s stand alone. It’s a brother’s best friend trope plus same work place. I love seeing the history of the two MCs and how they have a strong friendship. I love the laugh out moments!
I recommend if you want a good cozy rom com. I read it in one sitting.

Thank you, Cece Louise, for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Rob & Kelsey’s points of view

– Kelsey’s parents died in a car accident when she was in high school

Review:

This is the first book by Cece Louise that I’ve read and I really really enjoyed it! I can’t wait to go back to the first book and try her fairytale retellings when I get the chance! This book was so sweet and I loved that Rob was there for Kelsey for so much that occurred. I loved that he fell first and that it took Kelsey a bit to figure out that her feelings toward him were changing. I loved that they also worked together and hung out together so much because of Kelsey joining so many of her brother’s outings. I loved that Victoria took charge and tried to help Kelsey (and became great friends with her). Some of my favorite moments/scenes included: their day at the mall (ALL OF IT!), Rob caring for Kelsey after she discovered the engagement of her ex, Kelsey tripping over the recliner, the Shamrock Festival, and family taco night.

Summary:

Kelsey’s long time boyfriend broke up with her again and this time has hurt her more than the past times they’ve broken up. When Kelsey’s coworker catches wind that she wants to make a change, she is all over it. From updating Kelsey’s wardrobe to getting her set up with an online dating profile, Victoria seems to know what she is doing to help Kelsey. If only Kelsey could figure out what exactly she wants and who she wants to be. It doesn’t help that she is starting to see her brother’s best friend in a different light and wonders if maybe he could feel the same…

Rob has been in love with his best friend’s sister since they were in high school, but with Kelsey’s loyalty to her on-and-off again boyfriend taking all her attention he knew he would never stand a chance. But when Kelsey seems different after this particular breakup, Rob wonders if he should take the chance to let her know how he feels. He knows he’d regret never taking his shot, but is wary of the possible rejection. In the end, Rob just wants Kelsey happy…even if it isn’t with him…
