I truly was not expecting the CIA to get involved? This one really had a wild twist that I absolutely adored

It was good, but there were a lot of inconsistencies from the general story world as well as some incorrect words for things. They also had characters calling other characters by the wrong names, etc.
A decent entry in the series, but not the best of the bunch. The plot twist is a bit much and I wish the book had a cleaner resolution. Overall, an interesting read with a darker plot than is usual for a MSW novel.

Lol what.
What was this.
This was the second Murder She Wrote tie-in I've read and I think it will be the last. This was all just very fast and I am ??? about it.
This is very much a product of its time, so Jessica is talking about needing to lose weight and eat salads. She feels OOC in this book, so I think this needs to be a separate thing from the show.
I'm confused when this book is supposed to take place, because it doesn't make sense within the show chronology or even Jessica's own backstory. It's published in 1995, near the end of the show's run, but Jessica is nervous about accidentally making a political stand (getting political) or giving a lecture before a class? She's supposed to be a former teacher! She served in Congress in 1985! She feels weird about going on a date, not because she ever thinks about Frank but because she wishes she were on a date with some guy named George Sutherland. Who? I just feel like there are too many OCs and I don't like that for a tie-in NOR a fanfic. This is just a weird separate mystery that had a darker vibe than I expected, and the story just didn't make a lot of sense.

4 stars! I really enjoyed this book. The plotline was very interesting - albeit unbelievable. As a work of fiction, I don't expect the plotline to be realistic or believable since I'm reading to escape reality. The reason I marked it down a star is that the ending was too rushed. The typical Jessica Fletcher explanation to close the case was not present, and that was a little disappointing. Definitely a cozy, quick read that could be accomplished easily in a weekend.
