It was fun reading about motorcycle club, that was a first! I just wasn’t overly invested into the story and the two MC.. i’ll give book 2 a chance!

DID NOT FINISH

DNF'ing this book - not because its bad but because I've determined I really don't like books that jump back and forward in time. Not for me.

Hello Son’s of Anarchy in book form! The audiobook was perfection! The dual narration is everything. Just like Son’s I cringed multiple times with some of the language and violence, but the story is too good and the characters are too loveable to look away!

Callie grew up the daughter of a MC President. Her dad was thr prez, and that club was his life. So much so, Callie always felt alone. As a child, to get away, she would go to a neighboring treehouse..Wes

Thry went from crush to boyfriend and girlfriend. Her dad started to take Wes under his wing, spent time with him, and acknowledged him..unlike his own father who wes never liked.

As the years went on, Wes and Callie were each other’s everything, until they weren’t. Wes started hanging out more with the MC, and the one thing Callie wanted in life was to get away from the MC life.

Fast forward many years, Callie has moved away and is back due to her fathers death and Wes wants her gone. Through out the book you saw past and present that led up for her to leave.

For me this was a second chance amalltown romance sprinkling in mmc. If you want to start reading mmc and don't want it too dark this would be it. For me I need my mmc men a little more alpha and Wes was kinda a cinnamon roll and just completely gone for his woman. Makes sense since Wes didn't grow up in thr club atmosphere but it felt kinda like a poser.

I started to get annoyed with both of thrm when they started to mess around I'm like lord talk about your real feelings.

I was surprised with the ending and thr letters so props for that and the audio was good.

No rating because i just don’t think MC books are for me. Pair it with enemies to lovers and I’m just not sold. Nothing wrong with the book, just not into the bikers I don’t think!

Where We Started
I get giddy when I read a book when my absolute favorite trope is written so believable and so well (psst…it’s childhood friends to lovers). Wes and Callie were once friends and even a bit more and now have a second chance when she returns home. Everything about this story was authentic: from the characters and their tension and banter, to their reconciliation and romance with the steam and spice (told in a flashback and present timeline), to her black cat attitude to his protective German shepherd one, from the dialogue and scenes of the motorcycle club to the suspense, action and twists. Let’s just say I was smitten from start to finish.

Sooooo good! This one left its mark for sure! The character development was amazing and I can’t wait to continue their stories! The writing was so illustrative. A new favorite author for sure!
