Since it is a children book, the plot is very simplified, and many details are overlooked. The writing fits the targeted audience’s reading ability. It is a very easy read and somewhat boring in my opinion.

Don't call them ghosts! When Alice and her family move next door to an abandoned haunted house, she does what you'd expect - renovate and restore. International House of Dereliction connects the past with the present, centers friendship and family, and asks important questions about what it means to be a home. As someone who moved a lot as a kid, I connected with Alice's journey to make or find a home.

A sweet middle grade about a 10yr old girl from a quirky family that helps ghosts that live next door to move on. It was a nice short break from my normal genres. 4*

So cute! I love reading spooky middle grade, and this did not disappoint. What a creative story! I love being able to recommend things to my niece and nephews!
