I don't understand how this is a classic that people keep making adaptations of it's full of awful children, ableism, racism and a classiest depictions of Yorkshire

I have read and reread this story that I have two copies of the book (one which has needed tape). Following Mary Lennox and she becomes and orphan and moves in with her uncle, a man she has never met. At 10 she has to learn how to do things on her own and what she is capable of as well as becoming more aware of the people she interacts with.
