I think this book may be more useful if I get a physical copy. The audiobook version is very good. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I think I would use this more as a guide so I can go back to certain parts. Because the audiobook is so short, I will probably listen to it again. I think it has very good advice for living a life of meaning. I am often overwhelmed with things. I have too much. I should scale back, but it isn’t easy to do. I really like the idea of living a more deliberate life and improving more than just having too much stuff. The narrator, Justin Malik, is excellent.

A quick read on minimalism. I appreciate their maxim "Live a meaningful life". This book focuses on the values to focus on after the clutter is gone. I get more value from their podcast.

Some great ideas but not a whole lot of info on how to achieve them. Also talked about their six+ figure incomes a lot…

I loved this book. Josh and Ryan have a way of putting things that doesn't come off as judgey or preachy in any way. It feels like I'm having coffee with them and they are telling me how they found meaning in their life and it is truly inspiring. This book has changed my perspective on life and I hope to incorporate these changes into my life soon. I've started decluttering!

Great Read!

I just started diving into the world of Minimalism a month ago and stumbled upon the Minimalists site. After reading a few of their online posts I was excited to find they had written books! Minimalism: Live a Meaningful Life is full of tips to help anyone get started on their journey. What I love most about this read is how they constantly remind you that minimalism has a different flavor for everyone. It's not just about eliminating the excess in your life but how to live mindfully.

Through their five dimension model, Josh and Ryan provide a several examples and even have points of reader interaction. By asking a set of questions deeply tapping into the things that inhibit us, we are able to see our passions and missions in life more clearly. The Minimalists have proven once again that your happiness and goals in life are not centered around tangible consumer items. By living deeply fostering good personal health practices, communication, compassion, mindfulness, and altruism you too can have a successful and meaningful life.

I read this book following the documentary on Netflix, I really liked it. It opens your eyes to consumerism and the way the media manipulates you into ‘wanting’ more even when you don’t need it, and how you can make the most out of what you have right in front of you.
