What a gem. This book is about so much more than running. Murakami does an incredible job of demonstrating how we do one thing is oftentimes how or why we do something else. Like him, I am drawn to yoga (he, writing) + running because you truly don’t need anything besides yourself. I also enjoyed his observations on aging + the acceptance that is required to continue to do the thing.

Definitely a book to appreciate better if you run yourself.

It’s incredibly annoying that for Murakami to be a good writer he has to be insufferably pretentious

Just ok. Maybe I'll change my mind after book club discussion...

Honest, funny and incredibly inspiring. Was genuinely upset when this delightful book was over.
