Not in the mood narratives of men struggling with being men

This is really a book fans will enjoy. It’s not really about running but the role that running has played in Murakami’s identity as a human and writer. In terms of content it’s just okay but as a fan I enjoyed learning about his writing and thought process and how he views himself.

This sort of book is why I love libraries, or at least staff recommendation tables. There's really no reason I would have found this book myself. But the title was intriguing and after skimming a few pages I found I liked the author's voice.

While not quite a memoir, the book provides insight into the author's running life and what motivates him to get out and run most every day. Inspiring and enjoyable.

Akıcı, öğretici bir eser. 61 sayfada yerimi kullanmışım. Murakami'nin iç dünyasına aşina olmak için mutlaka okunması gereken kitaplardan biri.

If a perfect audiobook to listen to while running existed...

Delightful, comforting and reassuring and wonderfully philosophical.

I really enjoyed this book. As with all books I read about running it reminded me how much I love running. It was extremely honest and relatable especially because I am both a runner and a writer as this author is. So I was able to learn things not only about running but about writing too and about how to balance these things and life at once (though it was mostly about running). I know every runner can relate and would probably enjoy reading this book. Those who aren’t runners will also find so much to connect to and learn from in this book because while the subject itself is running, the lessons and reflections are about life. Murakami put into words really “what I talk about when I talk about running.” It’s an extremely fitting title.
