There are a few parts where it fills in gaps between the episodes in volume 1. And there is a lot which is backstory for characters who barely appear in episodes. The individual episodes are very short and I felt they didn't really add very much to the story.

I think this is a fun book, but of course I am a fan of the Heroes television series. This is the first graphic novel I have ever read and I think I will be picking up a few more. The best thing in owning this book is that some of the comic artwork used for the chapter headings is the same stuff used in the show. You have the artwork of Hiro arriving in New York, Peter flying, and several other pieces that were highlighted in the plot. In addition to complementing the existing characters, you find out the back story for some others. It only took me a few hours to read and I really enjoyed it.

I love these! The show was amazing and these graphic novels are a fun way to hold onto that excitement and heroism. I wish they made physical copies of all of the Graphic Novels instead of just 1-80
Three stars for some *amazing* artwork and some more than ok stories at the start.
Some compositions that stood out were jaw dropping and they inspire me to create similar stuff and lean towards that direction, the odd dark stuff with a slightly creepy twist. Love it. But the stories although starting strong, felt weaker. I lost interest as I progressed through the pages. Could be me? Could be the book? I don't know mate.
Cheers.
(By the way, I haven't seen the TV show, but I might give it a go, why not?)

This was great for anyone (like me) that loves the TV series and wants more. Apparently these were released online on a weekly basis, as filler in-between episodes, and they just released the whole season one of it in a nice hardcover set.
In it, you get little bits of the main characters, and a whole lot of some of the secondary characters, especially Hana Gitelman. I really enjoyed getting more back-story and explanation into the plot and characters that didn't get shown in the show itself.
Over the years, the American style of comic books has been growing on me, and this definitely has some great art in it. It ranges between being stylized to realistic, but overall has a nice consistency of good that it feels like one work rather than a whole bunch of different artists thrown together...which it is.
Definitely worth the read for fans, and only fans. I doubt anyone that hasn't watched the first season of Heroes would enjoy it.

I've had this since November, and really I've read them all online already but I finally went through the pretty, shiny, glossy pages.

Jumbled, chaotic, non-sensical. Added very little to the first season story line of the TV series which was so promising. I'll not be reading any more of the volumes in this series.
