Soooo repetative. Couldn't stand it by the time I got to the third book...

Of all the books in the series, Fifty Shades Freed is the best one in my opinion. The book has the amazing sex scenes like the previous books are known for, but also has a fast pace story line that is intriguing and add suspense. The relationship between Anastasia and Christian, as well as their relationship with friends and family is explored and explained so the reader is finally given answers we have been waiting for. Though slow points, like references to "Inner goddess" and repeated lines like "Fine point well made," occur over and over, the story line is interesting enough to bypass the flaws and keep the reader entertained. I would recommend this series for readers of contemporary, romance, and chick lit.

I don't remember how I got through the third book.

These are books that could have been much better. There was so much promise in the story and it failed at most of the hurdles.

The whole series feels like a travesty to me. The fact that these books are best-sellers seems to me to be a desecration of all that is precious and noble about the literary world.

I weep for future of our children as I watch the decay of the written word as the public laps these books up like the sweetest ambrosia they are absolutely not.

Yet who am I to stand as judge and juror to the world? There has to be some good reason why these books are so popular, media hype aside. I guess I'm not the target demographic for these books and I will likely never truly get it.

My personal feelings about the standards of our reading public aside, I do tip my hat off to EL James for writing a set of books that has set the book world on fire. Congratulations on your success.

(Edited to fix some grammar stuff)

Read all of the 50 Shades books in 2 days. Love the dynamic of a complicated relationship with a wounded man (though it's unrealistic that love could change someone that psychologically damaged and it's important women don't always think they can save someone, because usually that is not what happens).

At first the chemistry and sex scenes were interesting, but there were too many and after a while I just skipped through them. I don't feel that I need to read every single detail, every single time they have sex. The underlying story line isn't bad and makes for a good fantasy romance novel, but I feel these got a lot of hype because they go beyond "vanilla" and taboo usually sells, even if it's not the best quality.

No stars!

Decent read. Got 2/3 of the way through it and it felt like the author just wanted it to be done so the rest was written very, very fast. She'd spend two pages describing riding a jet ski in the beginning and then three paragraphs describing visiting someone in the hospital at the end. It felt rushed. But overall a good end to the trilogy.

This series has gotten better with each book. I wasn't thrilled with "Fifty Shades of Grey," but the second was an improvement and this one was the best, in my opinion. Less gratuitous sex and more of a storyline. Christian did have a miraculous transformation since the first book, but it's fiction, people!
