I just wished it had touched more on themes of religious trauma and the inner thoughts and feelings of other characters (specifically shara), but i get why that wouldn't be possible considering chloe is the main character and also the religious trauma in itself wasn't the main focus of the book (mostly its consequences). Overall great book!!

But I really liked how McQuiston wrote the friendships and developed the characters.
Not too bad for a YA romance, and not too bad for my first Casey McQuiston novel.

Casey McQuiston is just AMAZING with characters. I feel like every single one of their characters is such a fleshed out person with an interesting personality. Even the side characters that are not really important for the story (like Brooklyn or Summer).
I don't think I can properly get my feelings for this book in a sentence so I'm just going to say I loved it, I never wanted to put it down and I want to reread it like right now. Also I knew after the first few pages that this would be an absolute delight to read. Casey's books just always make me so happy. :)

I didn't love it in quite the same way I did McQuistion's other two books but that's probably just because I tend to feel a little distant from YA books as an adult. I'll still read anything they write next though.
