Ishiguro always finds a way to highlight the pointlessness of it all, his characters are so well depicted. Charlie & Emily are not very good friends to Raymond, they are self centred, entitled and completely bound up in their own perceived problems. London (& many other places) to a T these days. We seem to have lost our character in this relentless quest for self.

So nice writing, it has a good introduction to Ishiguro's work. I think that he loves a focus on the mundanity of life and you can tell that from the story. Not my favourite but I am sure that I will read more from him in the future.
