Would I read this again? nođ this is a 2.5/5 for me. Donât get me wrong if this story is a 5/5 I love that for you.
Personally I struggled to even finish the audiobook. The characters were cringy, the romance was cute but cringy and even though it had a happy ending it had so much more potential.

For anyone who enjoys Tessaâs writing youâll probably love this book! I liked the baseball aspect! I just didnât really like the writing. Itâs hard for me to get through.
3.5/5
Mixed feelings about this book. I love how the writer manages to give us a slow burn as well as fast-paced romance simultaneously - probably because of the switching perspectives of the lead characters.
Georgie had so many strong moments, when she took matters into her own hands for her fireplace, creating the Just Us League and even proposing the deal between her and Travis...
*SPOILER* one thing that threw me off was the fact that Georgie went after a guy knowing he didn't align with her major goals. She wants kids. He doesn't. Convincing someone to be in a relationship with you is very different from jumping all in knowing that there are dealbreakers/things you don't want to sacrifice....
Maybe the author was going for, "the heart wants what it wants" vibe? Or it was just Georgie's naivetĂŠ? I feel like Georgie had so much potential to be a great heroine if she didn't compromise on her dealbreakers. Like it was her duty to change a man. Hmmm...we'll see what the other books in the series bring.

Did not finish. Could not do it. Not rating because itâs unfair to rate something I only read 37% of but I simply cannot bear to continue this one.
Okay I actually liked this book. I liked their story, the banter was good, and Tessa Bailey is still the reigning Queen of Dirty Talk. That scene after they decided on their fake-dating plan wasâŚwow.
The conflict at the end was pretty mild but unnecessary. I prefer low-angst so if you like a more angsty main character this might not be for you.
That said, there were some passages that I just could not get over. Specifically the fact that she was a clown, not a jokester/class clown, but a literal clown.
It seemed like the author just picked that since it would give backing behind why she was never taken seriously by anyone. Or maybe we give Tessa Bailey the benefit of the doubt and she saw a cute clown once and was like âwhatâs her story?â
Still it was hard to get over when it came up in quotes like this:
âTravis swallowed hard, battling back the urge to scoop her up and bury his face in whatever part of her was closest. She had that fresh-scrubbed look, as if sheâd just wiped off her clown makeup.â

This book is sweet, funny, romantic, and a bit ridiculous at times but kept me entertained to the last page. I loved Georgie and all the side characters. On top of the love story, this book introduces the Just Us League that Georgie, her sister and their friend have created. It's a club that helps empower women to be successful and go after what they want. I'd love to be a part of it!
Overall, reading this book was like watching a rom com movie, which is never a bad thing.
