Nice story, but it is all very over the top positive. ‘As long as you think positively, you will be fine’. My favourite character Martha is somehow lost in the second half of the book.

Brontë sisters for kids.

"And they both began to laugh over nothing as children will when they are happy together. And they laughed so that in the end they were making as much noise as if they had been two ordinary, healthy natural, two-year-old creatures - instead of a hard, little, unloving girl and a sickly boy who believed that he was going to die."

This was my first experience with The Secret Garden, and I loved it to bits!
Such a cute story about what some focus on the right things can do for yourself and your surroundings.
I loved the characters and how they grew, and man... I wish I could visit that garden!
