Overall a very good read of alternate history. Too short and left me wanting more!

A masterpiece. I liked most of it--excellent writing, deft characterizations of a number of Nazi public figures, a sense of freedom rather than painstaking restraint with the historical inaccuracies. And yet I nearly thre up my hands at the big reveal at the end.

Was it the time that the book was written? I don't know enough about historical fiction at the time. It seems so odd now, though, for such a big reveal to be something we already know. It was we'll set up, but still I found myself distanced from the book at that point.

Intresting as speculative dystopian fiction, pretty run-of-the-mill as a thriller. I really find more value in the former - maybe this should be next year's Robert Harris Oscar-nominee adaptation. Though I am sure it will still fly over some people's heads.

Task #2 An alternate history novel

Slow start but really worth it in the end

The enormous amount of research Harris must have done is clear in his description of what Hitler's Germany would have looked like by the 1960s - very much in accordance with Hitler's own visions before the end of the war.
