Laura and Killian are so freaking adorable together. They are not without fault, and there were times I wanted I shake Killian, but in the end, they ended up where they belonged.

"...'I wanted you to know you're not alone. I'm in this with you. I'm here. Standing next to you or waiting at home while you deal with things in the club that I can't witness. Whatever and wherever this club takes you, I'm in it with you. I'll hold things down while you're gone and help carry them while you're here.'"

"Every single day, I'd push to remind him and myself of exactly where we belonged."

I loved this book even more than the first in this series! The FMC was tough,  but not in an annoying way,  I loved her spirit!

I enjoyed this one more than book one, and thats saying something because book one was amazing as well!!

Storyline: We have Laura who is the BFF of Callie from book one. She comes with Callie back to her hometown and when Callie decides she is staying, so does Laura. Come to find out some "stuff" happened between Laura and Killian (Callies brother) during the timeline of book one. Killian thinks that loving someone is weakness and fights his attraction to Laura HARD. Laura is bossy and badass but Killian really gives her confidence a go in the first half. As their relationship progresses he is nervous to give her a property patch because of the bloggers that are in town trying to take them down. Things work out and boy did we see a ton of hints for books three and four.

Thoughts: I loved and hated Killian. Man was he a dick at first. Then he started to do stuff for Laura and his true feelings came out and I was all heart eyes. Laura is probably one of my favorite FMCs so far this year. I loved her personality. I think the one thing that bothered me with both books is that the couples were still not like officially together in both until like the 90% mark. So HIGH angst but worth it. Cannot wait to read the next two books.

Dedication: “To those who feel fragile. To the ones who have apologized for being soft. The ones who feel like they cry too often. There’s a dark prince out there somewhere searching for you.… who secretly plucked flowers and wished on stars. Hoping that one day their harsh world would hold beauty.”

So glad these books fell into my reading world. They are hitting just the right feels, they are easily consumed, and keeping me up too late to finish. I really liked Laura from the first book in the series, and glad that we are getting her story. Killian, as the new president of the Stone Riders MC, goes out of his way to make Laura at once feel cherished, and in the next instant pushes her away. I love that she’s so steadfast in her wants, and how she pushes him out of his comfort zone. Loved the story of his tattoo on his heart, and I was a blubbering mess when he was done. Ashley Munoz’s dedications are beautiful.

“You’re mine now, beautiful thing. All mine. I’ll share you with the sun, your parents, and I guess the audience you sing to, but that’s it.”

CW/TW: Violence (common in MC books); hostage at gunpoint; graphic spicy scenes; murder; pregnancy & labor.

Laura and Killian met 3 months ago, and the sparks were instantaneous. But Killian wanted bigger things, and to obtain them, he couldn’t afford any distractions, especially when they came in the form of a blue-eyed woman who made him weak at the knees. So he pushed her away and she left town, but now she’s back and living in his apartment. He wants to ignore her, but danger is lurking at every corner, and now it’s his distraction he can’t afford to lose.

Killian was a complete a-hole to Laura, and I wanted to smack him up the head, but he was also extremely possessive of her, worrying about even a little hair on her head getting hurt. AND I WAS HERE FOR IT! And Laura is such a badass! She was MADE to be Killian’s partner.
