Really good story. I was rooting for all of the main characters. I will look up this author's other books too.

I enjoyed this book. I’d say it was a light read and not hard at all to follow the various plot lines. I had a few slight annoyances- one being that it dragged a little here and there. Another being that I found it a little too much of a coincidence that Lu is blogging but pretending to be someone she’s not, and just so happens to befriend a writer who is currently in hideout due to plagiarism-and then surprise! More plagiarism towards the end of the book (or maybe pseudo-plagiarism). Either plagiarism is WAY more common that I thought or it’s just a whole lot of coincidence- I don’t know.
Also, it bothered me at the end when Joy attempted to sabotage the food truck. It just seemed out of character to me for her to be sneaky and lie the way she did. It undermined her character IMO. That is all.

Ever since visiting Block Island with my husband on our Rhode Island vacations, I've loved reading stories set on this beautiful island. This story weaves 3 separate stories together in a fun, interesting way.
I started reading this either during or just after summer vacations, but recently, I just had to pick it up in the middle of winter. Loved transporting myself to a fun beach vacation if only on the pages.
And now, I'm totally craving some whoopie pies. If Joy Bombs doesn't actually exist, I'm going to have to feed that desire by baking some myself.

3.5. Great summer beach read. Easy to read and most of the characters are likable. Had never heard of Block Island before. Enjoyed learning and reading about it. Recommend if you want a fast fun summer read.
Whew. I just love how the author writes. I can count on three fingers how many authors I've read that I totally identify with. Her characters are fully-formed, real, flawed, and speak like people I know. The settings are interesting and feature directly into the plot. When I wasn't reading the book, I wanted to be reading the book.
My only complaint was that it ended way too early.
