This was a cute grumpy sunshine rom-com. It was pretty average, but still a fun read.

Olivia Brent has one summer to save the dairy farm she just inherited. But there's one problem: Jake Milovic. The brooding farmhand who inherited fifty percent of Brent Farm. He's convinced the city girl can't work the land, so he wagers a bet that she can't save it in a summer.

Olivia went in guns blazing. She was happy to leave the city and return to farm life but she had no idea she would be sharing the farm with Jake. Regardless, she brainstormed and got to work opening her grandmother’s old farm store, taking to social media, and bringing the farm back to life. Jake on the other hand was grumpy and wanted nothing to do with the changes. While some might understand his reasoning I thought it was childish because he could have easily let her know his “why” and they could have worked through it, rather than him being an ass the entire time. I loved the supporting cast of characters and all the animals, and I appreciated that the farm itself played a big role in the story. Once Olivia figured Jake out, and she basically forced him to talk to her, things evened out and I was able to enjoy the rest of the story. It had its cute moments for sure.

Olivia and John were the perfect grumpy sunshine couple. Found family romance. This book was everything. The tension between these two characters was so think you could cut it with a knife, but it was such a good balance of the two personalities. I loved how they had to work together to come together to figure out what to do with the farm after the loss of, Olivia‘s grandfather. This book was absolutely adorable, and it truly made me want to read more cowboy/country romance. I absolutely recommend anyone into those genres read this book because it was that good.

This book was just what I needed in these stressful and uncertain times. Bet the Farm was so sweet, playful, and so much fun.

I adored the two protagonists. Staci Hart has a beautiful way of designing loveable and real characters. There was no way I couldn't root for them. There's Jake, the grumpy hero and Olivia, the sunshine heroine. I was so invested in their story because it was so enjoyably written. Their chemistry was just something else. Jake could be a jerk at times, although he had his reasons. But he truly loved this farm, and he cared for Olivia just as much. Olivia is this optimistic person, a trait I think is so great to have, and she was always trying her best and to cheer Jake up, even though this might get her in trouble at times.

If you're looking for an emotional but fun read that gives you a little suspense but also the feels, definitely check out Bet the Farm.

really skimmed the last 20% of this because i couldn’t stand it anymore. probably a great book for pick-me farm girls who are into assholes i guess?
what a stupid “romance.” the characters literally have nothing in common besides growing up together? sure, makes sense that the entire book should be the woman fighting tooth and nail to get the man to just BE NICE to her. Jake is a dickhead who needs therapy and blames all of his problems on the people around him, including and especially Olivia for some reason. i would never let a man talk to me the way he talked to Olivia (minus the RANDOM lovey dovey scenes in the middle of the book that were supposed to get us to like Jake….. nah), let alone chase after his affection and beg for his trust (??), so this entire book was just overall incredibly annoying to read. Jake deserves nothing and Olivia deserves to go back to New York where she’s obviously happier. AND NOW FOR THE ONE TRUE SPOILER:
what is attractive about a man with too much pride to accept a $200,000 check that would save the farm he’s about to lose forever?? complete moron who honestly deserves to lose the farm for that, idc

Delightful, charming, and udderly (*wink*) hilarious. The (mis)adventures of Olivia are sure to make you laugh-out-loud as she sets out to save her Pops farm alongside broody farmhand Jake—who is less than thrilled by all the changes. But will a bitter century old feud sabotage the farm and force them to lose everything?

Rivalry, tension, and witty banter. Sweet heat, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Baby cows, puppies and baby goats IN PAJAMAS! Bet the Farm is a bountiful harvest of heart, heat and humor.

Just okay. The humor didn’t quite hit the mark for me and I thought our MMC, Jake, was a complete jerk a lot of the time, so I wasn’t really rooting for our couple. There is a standalone book for another character from this book, but I didn’t enjoy this one enough to carry on.
