Read this one for a “book club” my mom n i came up with for the year. This was Januarys read. Came away with a confused feeling, which I think is what Vonnegut was going for talking about the ~absurdity of life~.
In any case, even if I missed the overarching theme(s) of the book, it was still enjoyable and funny. I always love the drawings he does. A nice n easier read to get the year started

A chaotic book without a stable plot that still manages to say a lot, pull you in, and artfully circle back to end the story of the characters and references. Funny, dark, inappropriate, and pushing the bounds of story structure, I confidentially say Vonnegut is rightfully a literary giant

i read this all on one beach trip with my parents which was funny because i'd look up and see people sunbathing. It is the first Vonnegut book I've read and I hope to read more

i liked the dives into the backgrounds of the side characters and how it captured how weird the world is - especially America. the glibness of the phrasing could be really funny or annoying, sometimes both. I thought the depiction of race 'relations' was kind of offensive but not in a way that really said anything, which was the weakest point for me.

Also for some reason I read it all in the voice of professor farnsworth from futurama

Enjoy it every time I pick it up. I think this is one that should be read towards the end of your Vonnegut "reading list," as it mentions other characters and the author putting himself inside the story in a very "this is goodbye" sort of way. I guess that's what this is, almost a good-bye to the author's characters and worlds.

Big miss for me. Usually love Vonnegut books but this just did not have his usual depth or humor or nuance. Didn't finish it. Glad this wasn't my first of his books - I probably would never have picked up another.

a funny view in American robots, as any one with free will would pay taxes

Laughed out loud alot with this book.

Descabellado, original, brillante... Sarcástico, muy ácido.
