The overall storyline of this book was great but it was very educational heavy. There was a lot of really cool facts about Egypt and even quantum physics but my attention drifted off during some of those parts and I needed to relisten to those parts of the audiobook because I missed some of the overall story line. This was not my favorite Jodi book but she's still, hands down, a favorite author of mine.
slow-paced
different from Picoult’s books i’ve read in the past, in a great way. a LOT of textbook heavy info that almost put me to sleep a few times, but a lot of it was very interesting and added to the themes and plot. the last 50 or so pages felt rushed, and felt like she wanted to just wrap everything up which bothered me, though i liked the open ended finish.
I usually really love Jodi Picoult books but this one didn't live up to my previous experience with her other books. Now, I didn't hate it by I didn't love it either. And the ending left me incomplete.
There were so many facts in this book, which, I really enjoy learning about Egypt but for me personally it took away from the actual story a bit.
So, it seemed a lot happened in the beginning with the plane crash and introducing the characters. Then the rest of the story went back and forth between the past in Egypt, to present day Boston, to present day Egypt and then present day Boston. It was a lot of jumping back and forth and it got a little confusing and it seemed like the story took forever. Then you get to the twist near the end and then it was a super quick read towards the end. In my opinion, take out about 75% of the facts and continue on with the story and don't let it end the way it did.
All in all ⭐⭐⭐ for me but I will continue to read her books because I've loved all the others so far.
