i’m so confused lmfao

What happens when you let go of everything you were taught growing up? When you start to view the prophecies and teachings that were instilled in you to be false? Growing and learning to think for yourself and make your own decisions? Aura thought she had escaped it all, that she had it all! A loving boyfriend, a caring and understanding best friend. But one night changed all of that, the facade starts to slip and the masks the people closest to her wore are just that; a mask.

A chance meeting, a fleeting night out at a strip club set in motion a whirlwind of butterflies and wildflowers.

“ I think I’d lose myself to you. Get lost in every ounce of your energy. I want to devour you as much as I know you’d consume me ”

An almost cosmic aligning of the stars and planets happened when Aura and Ruby locked eyes. Like their very souls recognized each other with out ever meeting. Both of these women have had very different back stories, yet have endured a level of trauma no one wishes for. Together they comfort each other’s demons while overcoming them. Pushing them toward one common goal, Freedom. And Freedom, is a whole Vibe!

Liza James has cathartically harnessed her life experiences and channeled them into this story of trauma, discovery, healing and redemption. I feel like this book is a defining moment for her as she blazes her trail as a writer and I am endlessly proud of her

Butterflies and Wildflowers

Aura has grown up her whole life waiting for the ascension. While everyone was “preparing her for this day”, she wasn’t prepared for what was really about to happen.

Oh my goodness. I’m just going to say there’s a high possibility that I may spoil something because honestly, it’s hard not to. You’ve been warned. Also, if you’re thinking about reading this, please check for triggers.

The moment I started reading this book, I felt the vibes. Huh, see what I did there.

Immediately in the first chapter, I felt myself guessing what was going to happen by the end of that chapter. You don’t get much with the blurb, especially the whirlwind and journey this book takes you on. I knew by the first chapter, I was in for a ride as I was immediately screaming at my phone and feeling sick. This book was dark, cruel, and mind-blowing. This book even though dark, was beautiful especially in the way characters come to realize who they are.

Aura is beautifully broken and I immediately wanted to hold her tight. My heart broke because of all the trauma she’s been through. From the prologue and even throughout the whole book. She kept fighting though. She did what she wanted to do and she did it as soon as she felt it. I loved seeing her finally open up to Ruby and allow herself to let someone in.

Ruby held me captive, just like Aura. Ruby was so strong, even though dealt with a tough past too. She kept her guard up, never having a real connection with anyone. The facade she kept up, slowly cracked and crumbled when Aura was around. Her character was so sexy and that dirty talk was scorching!

This book was rough to start. Rough in the middle. Rough till the end. This book was not meant to be sweet and full of rainbows. This book was dark, deep, and gritty. With that being said — handle with caution. Do know, if you give in, you will be on a wild journey, but the very ending is worth all of it. This will stick with me forever. The author did a fantastic job of writing this book. She did a fantastic job with the metaphors. She just did an amazing and beautiful job, telling this story. I will be reading more from her.

4.5/5 ⭐️

3.5 stars

Okay this books was really well written and I thought the characters were great. Everything that was related to the Nation was kind of weird and felt kind of rushed. Like that plot point wasn’t as well developed. More like readers were supposed to just understand the existence of this cult without any explanation of justification. But I loved Nova and Aura’s story!!!

Absolutely ridiculous.

Five months later……I finally finished this book, and what a damn ride it was.

When I started this back in March I was truly hung up, the tension and chemistry between Aura and Ruby really won me over. Then a slump hit and I spent a lot of time away from it before finally finishing it.

This was one of the more darker reads that I’ve read and it was a lot to take in from time to time so take the trigger warnings seriously if you’re thinking about picking this up. I truly loved Aura and Ruby as individuals and as a couple and I felt so connected to them with each chapter that passed even when the odds were stacked against them.

It’s unfortunate that this was taken off Amazon and I’m hoping it’ll be brought back in some way and I’m so excited to pick up the next book “Hush” and possibly learn more about what was introduced in this book, hell maybe even a series?

I think I am ready for this. I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. WITH. A. PASSION. I was hooked, line, sinker, from the fist few words - no lie. PLEASE do yourself a solid and pick up with book.

Ruby was my girl, Aura my girl. They are the definition of burning love. They have a real pull, - like eating at you if you ignore it, chemistry, pull. I have never read anything like it before and I am not sure I ever will again.

SO you start off with only knowing Aura. You get few and brief flashes to her past to understand her better. EVEN her dark fucked up past was interesting. I was so happy that you met Ruby pretty early on in the story. Their connection almost feels tangible from the beginning. They meet at the club Ruby works while Aura is out with her bf, then it's game over for their feelings. The STEAM is *chefs kiss*. They don't even need to touch each other for the scenes to be steamy sometimes.

Unfortunately I cannot add too much more because there is a LOT about this story that is spoilers. I need you to go in three blind mice style boys and girls.
I will leave you with my favorite quote and just say it is dark, steamy, gripping, passionate, and free.

"Black, lethal eyes that awaken my demons. Those are the ones I want to devour me."

Fin.

Son of a gun, this book had me tied up in knots. I didn't want to finish it, but it's the best cocaine I've had in a long time. I couldn't stop, I couldn't go. The roughness of it is overwhelming. The softness is nonexistent. Cults, torture, rape, deception everywhere. Except for Aura and Ruby. They were true to each other and their needs. A metamorphosis if you will. If you are reading this book , buckle up. It's for your own safety.
