I read the first book in 2021 when it first came out, so it’s been almost 4 years since I read the story. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reread the first book, so some of the stuff I was a little hazy on. Like Marjorie North’s relationship to all of this and some of what happened at the bank.

I really enjoyed this book overall and I read it quite quickly when I was able to read. Sometimes I don’t like when there are so many POVs, but it worked for me. Just like with the first book, I thought it was actually really helpful to jump around time-wise because Tess Sharpe is excellent at revealing information and I had no idea about the big reveal/secret when it was finally talked about. Sometimes you can guess it, but it just blew me away.

Of course there were moments where it was like, was that realistic, would they have been able to do that in the middle of the woods, just have all that stuff handy and survive? But it was just too good to care.

About 3/4 of the way through, I thought “I really hope there’s a third book,”

but after they seem to imply that Amanda kills Abby, who I thought the third book might revolve around, I guess not 😞

I’m about to reread the first of this series, now that I’ve found a copy, to get back into those characters minds and understand this book a little better.

Apparently Tess Sharpe just came out with another book this week called No Body No Crime. I read the preview on Libby and I’m so disappointed that I have to wait up to 6 weeks to read it because it’s similarly structured to this book and it is a similar concept.
