Fun sequel! It was great to be back in this world to see what happened after the events in book 1. I'm curious if this story will continue and if we'll get something more from some of the things that happened at the end of this book.
Really enjoyable read!

The Girl in Question is a sequel to The Girls I've Been following the same group of characters.
"Cinderella doesn't call her stepmother wicked after all -- the story does. All Cinderella wants is for that wicked woman to love her."
My moods about this book fluctuated very much. The beginning was extremely boring and I just kind of wanted to be done. The constant pov switches and flashback scenes to the past were just annoying and I very much did not like it.
The second part however... sometime after the first third of the book, I started really enjoying this. The plot is intense and there's a lot of action. Everything kind of connects together in a way. I will say I think this book would have been a more enjoyable experience for me if I had read the first book more recently than a year ago. But, alas.
Characters: Nora O'Malley - Our badass VERY morally gray main character. lwk kind of insane but honestly the main three are all insane so. insane and traumatized.
Iris - Nora's girlfriend who is also very, very cool. probably the calmest one, but also kind of crazy. she just loves her girlfriend and would probably commit a few murders for her.
Wes - Nora's codependent best friend. sighhhh. my favorite character. everyone justlies to him in this book. so so much. and I feel so bad for him and he doesn't know if he can be loved without being lied to and. I feel for him so much. I also just generally love him. He's so betrayed.

"I just never thought she'd finally do something so bad she'd lose me first."
I really wish I loved this book more because the trio's dynamic is one I love love love to see. They'll one day be a happy family, trust.
Also, I think the ending was really good in that way. The way it doesn't tie everything up in a perfect bow but acknowledges the trauma, the loss, but still gives a hopeful ending.
Overall, beginning sucked because I had to piece everything together myself since this author does NOT jog your memory at all. Everything else was 4.25 - 4.5 star material. But like, some things just didn't make sense to me than if I had read the first book more recently.

A good second book to round up the story the first book started. Not as gripping as the first, because of the many povs, flashbacks or timeline jumps. There are many unexpected things in the story that keeps it unpredictable. But read the content warnings.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Blood, Kidnapping, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Gun violence, Panic attacks/disorders, Death of parent, Murder
