This book was absolutely thrilling! From the very start it was packed with action. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book, and I did not see that twist coming at all! I loved the wilderness setting and survival elements. There was such high tension, with me biting my nails every time they split up and then breathing a sigh of relief when they found each other again. Of course, splitting the group up gave each character time to shine. Iris in particular stood out as extra amazing in this book, making huge strides since she was blindsided by everything last book. Nora was fierce as always, and I loved her trusty sidekick Jill the machete. But I must say Turbo stole the show. The one thing I struggled with was all the perspectives. The multiple character povs combined with chapters set in Nora’s past was a bit overwhelming. I also had mixed feelings on the ending. While a very satisfying resolution for the action, Nora and Wes ended in a weird emotional place that I did not love. But overall I loved and highly recommend this book!

another very good book! i enjoyed it less than the first one, i think, but that's partly because i read that one very cohesively over 3-4 days, whereas i was busy during this one and it got broken up a lot. i do also think that the flashbacks were less interesting in this book, since we already got most of the story in the first, and i did especially love some of the Nora/Iris lines in the first one, whilst there were fewer in this one.
however, this was also really good! gotta love messy bi girlskilling their abusers, complex relationships, found family, and sapphics going feral to save each other. the twist was also very well done imo, i was genuinely like 'wtf' when Emma showed up and found myself looking back to see if i'd missed something.
i also think it was pretty well done as a 'hidden' twist in a first person POV, something that can seem ridiculous, because rather than just 'not thinking about it' for no good reason, Iris and Nora *did* think about the twist, but in the way someone would about something *they* already factually knew and so didn't need to narrate/elaborate on, which is (imo) pretty much the only way that kind of twist works without the presence of some kind of amnesia.
one quick thing to note is that i chose 'it's complicated' under diversity, because whilst these books include multiple queer characters, and representation of disability and chronic illness (including endometriosis and PTSD), there was (afaik) not a single character of colour in this book, and i don't think in the first either.
