didn’t feel any chemistry between tax & mia and the ending?? what the fuck?
This book was a wild and crazy ride. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it, exactly—it was an uncomfortable read at times—but it sure had my attention and for that I give it 4 stars.
I can say with near certainty that I’ve never hated a hero as much as I hated Tax in the beginning. He seemed almost irredeemable, but by the end, I dare say I almost liked him, and at the very least I understood why he was the way he was.
Still, it was one of those rare books where I felt ambivalent about the hero and heroine ending up together. I just couldn’t root for them. Sure, I know Mia wanted him, but after all the horrible shit she went through because of him, I really felt like she could do better, despite all the chemistry and passion she had with him.
I get it, though. She walked through fire and deserved her reward … and the only reward she wanted was him. It ended the way it had to.

What the hell just happened? I wasn't sure I was going to like Tax, Mia or this book at the beginning. It has subject matter that makes you cringe, questionable decision making and characters you don't want to like but are helpless not to feel sympathy for. It will drag you in, rough you up and leave you bruised but satisfied at the end. This is probably the only time I will ever say I want more Tax, but I'd be so willing to pay.
Pretty good but almost threw it out of the window at 24% when it came out that the name Silvio was Romanian, what a joke, couldn't do the bare minimum and research it properly?
Whoa. I'm seriously trying to process what I just read. Oh my god, my emotions are everywhere. Look, there's some over there and some in the corner to your left. This is a messed up story. It's dark, gritty, emotional with some wtf is happening right now ? thrown in. The last half of the story, I couldn't put the book down. Not gonna lie, the story is harsh and I'd say some taboo-ness, but so well written. Seriously, every time Tax and Mia fucked (they didn't have sex or make love, they fucked) Closer by Nine Inch Nails ran through my head. Damn what a story line. If you're expecting hearts and flowers with this book, this book is so not for you. But if you can get passed some f'ed up stuff, you're going to get one hell of a story.
