It's sad. The world is really well constructed and I love all the characters.

Nevermore"

Catherine (respectfully) needs to grow a spine and tell her mother to screw off instead of whining about a dream that could've been possible <3

I must admit that I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book. It came so highly recommended I didn’t even pause to read the description first. I see why it was recommended. It’s is VERY well done…I just don’t like villain origin stories very much because I already know how it ends and I already know that the journey to get there is both tragic and frustrating. It’s just not my favorite thing to read. I was almost convinced that there was hope for a happy ending at one point but I was sorely mistaken.

I have a lot of admiration and respect for Marissa Meyer as she is the kind of writer I want to be. This is exactly the kind of book I want to write, heartbreaking whimsical classic/fairytale retellings!

The writing was beautiful, it was so witty and really drew you in and kept you captivated, this book did not feel like 450 pages, it was brilliant.

The parents annoyed me so bad,
the audacity to pull the „we just want you to be happy“ card AT THE END. Also poor Mary Ann girly just couldn’t win fr

I love sad endings
personally, but they still TEAR ME APART duhh love the pain!! But seriously what the hell 💕💕🤪🤪
I esp like it when deaths are abrupt cause it’s  realistic, life is so fragile. Nothing better than feeling the denial and despair through the pages!!

All in all, I need this as a Tim Burton directed movie

The last chapter saved this book. I think that often times, stories can be told with less words to make it more powerful. This is one book that would have benefitted from more editing.
