Oh my goodness! Ruby Spencer's Whisky Year was such a delightful read.
Thank you PRHaudio for my complimentary audiobook and NetGalley and Berkley for my eArc.

I love all things Scotland and this was the perfect mini vacation.

It was refreshing to have a female MC who is a tad bit older than the norm. Ruby has life experience and does not just jump into situations with her eyes closed.
Brochan has just enough Jamie vibes to make me swoon while i was reading.

This was a quick paced read and i really enjoyed the narrator, She was spot on with the voices and accents. Had I only read the book I wouldn’t have gotten the full Scottish accent experience.

I am not a fan of the third act breakup, but understand it is sometimes warranted for the story. The slow burn was nice and I appreciated not being bombarded with overly descriptive sex scenes.

This is such a cute read! Started off a bit rocky but after the first few chapters I got into it.

Normally I don’t vibe with big-lumberjack-man romances, but this one was sweet, and I literally want to love in to the pages of this wonderful Scottish town and it’s cast of characters. Honestly I would’ve read an entire book about saving the pub, gardening, cooking, and whisky, the romance was just bonus! I really enjoyed Ruby, and will enjoy a reread, even though I can see the third act issues coming from 10 kilometers away. Will definitely be reading the next one!

Very cute! I want to move to Scotland and grow a garden and drink whisky.
