This took me back to my short time in Scotland a few years ago. The coziness and welcoming feeling I got from this story, it's characters and it's setting along with the beautiful description of food our characters made were so heartwarming. I am surprised to say that I fell in love with Thistlecross and it's friendly and passionnate inhabitants.

It was fine. I wanted to like this book more, but the plot was a little slow, simplistic and formulaic. Loved the descriptions of Scotland!

This book started off great... but that's pretty much it. A lot is happening and yet nothing is happening, and all of it just pulls the focus away from the romance. And what little romance we got was sooooo cheesy! And don't get me started on Ruby, who won't help the MMC out on a big issue because she "pinky-swore" to a virtual stranger she would keep a stupid secret... And why does she keep meddling in town business when she's literally been living there for two seconds?

So much telling. Very basic plot and only so so execution.
And leaving someone stranded at the airport after ignoring their calls for two days is beyond childish - a half ass apology weeks later is not how to resolve that
