Excellent book. Some of it is awful. Anything that involves a bone-marrow transplant isn’t fun; I think this was more excruciating than Between Two Kingdoms. But it’s a lovely story, incredibly well written, and made me feel like there’s always a way to get through hard times.

What a story! I couldn’t put it down even though parts of it were terrifying to read. The front cover in big letters are the words Love and Hope. Yes. That’s what this is and that’s how you’ll feel reading it.

I really wanted to like this book more, but it was only pretty good. I found the telling to be overly detailed in some places and too sparse of detail in others. It’s probably my expectations that were off, but I sometimes read a chapter at night just to keep myself from coming to a complete stop.

This is a beautiful memoir about the death of Ephron's first husband, her finding love again in her 70s, and her fight with leukemia. It took me a little bit to adjust to her writing style -- it's kind of abrupt, but it's effective. Be warned, though: if you or someone you love have dealt with cancer, parts of this may be very difficult to read.
